The Stay Directory ("we", "us", "our") is a free accommodation listing platform that connects travellers with accommodation providers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website at thestaydirectory.com.

For providers (accommodation owners):

  • Email address and password (for account creation and login)
  • Business name
  • Property details you submit (name, description, location, photos, amenities)
  • Contact information you choose to include on your listing

For all visitors:

  • Pages visited and search queries (anonymised analytics)
  • Click-through events when visiting property websites (linked to the property, not to you personally)
  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referrer)

3. How we use your information

  • To operate and improve the platform
  • To display your listing to guests (providers only)
  • To provide analytics on your listing performance (providers only)
  • To send account-related emails (password reset, etc.)
  • To understand how visitors use the site and improve search results

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Data storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS). Property images are stored on Cloudinary's CDN. Both services maintain industry-standard security practices. Your data is stored in the EU unless otherwise noted.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — database and authentication
  • Cloudinary — image storage and delivery
  • Vercel — website hosting

When you click "Visit Website" on a property listing, you are navigating to a third-party website. That website's own privacy policy applies from that point.

6. Cookies

We use minimal cookies necessary to keep you logged in as a provider. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your listing data
